Rail Wheel Factory Recruitment 2026 Apprentice out for 192 Posts
Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) has released the official notification for Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026 on 28th February 2026. A total of 192 vacancies are available under this recruitment drive.
Candidates aged 15 to 24 years (as on 1st March 2026) who have passed 10th class with at least 50% aggregate marks and hold a National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT in the relevant trade are eligible to apply for these Act Apprentice posts.
The application process is offline, and candidates must submit their completed forms before 1st April 2026 (by 5:00 PM). Applications can be sent either via Registered Post or dropped in the designated drop box at Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board as of the date of the notification.
- Technical Qualification: Candidates must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the designated trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). Simply completing the course is not sufficient.
- Important Notes:
- Candidates awaiting ITI/NTC results as of the notification date are not eligible.
- Candidates who have failed in ITI/NTC are not eligible.
- Engineering graduates or diploma holders are not eligible for this apprenticeship, as they fall under a separate Apprenticeship scheme.
- Employment Exchange Registration (Mandatory): Only candidates registered with local Employment Exchanges are eligible. Registration must be current and valid on the date of notification. Preference will be given to candidates registered within Karnataka State Employment Exchanges.
- Wards of Serving Railway Employees: Wards of serving Railway employees across India are eligible to apply. Their applications must be sent through the respective Controlling Officials in the prescribed format (Annexure-D). Employment Exchange registration is not required for this category.
- Additional Note: Only full-time regular courses from recognized Boards/NCVT will be considered. All minimum essential qualifications must be valid and verifiable.
Fee Structure
- Application Fee: โน100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) as a processing fee, payable through Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft (DD) from any nationalized bank, drawn in favor of โPrincipal Financial Adviser / Rail Wheel Factory.โ
- Exempted Categories: Candidates belonging to SC / ST / Persons with Disabilities / Women are exempted from paying the fee.
- Important Notes:
- The processing fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Applications without the required processing fee (where applicable) will be rejected outright.
- The IPO/DD must be issued on or after the date of notification (28.02.2026).
Age Limits
- SC/ST candidates: Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years.
- OBC candidates: Upper age limit relaxable by 3 years.
- Other relaxations: As per the current instructions of the Railway Board, amended from time to time.
- Certificate Requirements for Reservation:
- Candidates claiming SC/ST reservation must provide a valid caste certificate in the Government of India format issued by the appropriate authority (as per Annexure-B).
- Candidates claiming OBC reservation must provide a caste certificate and Non-Creamy Layer certificate, issued on or after 01.07.2025, in the Government of India format (as per Annexure-C).

| Mode Of Selection |
| The selection of candidates will be made on the basis ofย merit listย prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in 10th Std / Matriculation or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. For the purpose of calculation of percentage of marks in 10th Std, marks obtained by the candidates in all the subjects as indicated in the said marks sheet will be reckoned and not on the basis of marks of any subject or a group of subjects. Tie-breaking Rule:ย In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidate with older age shall be preferred. In case dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the 10th Std / Matriculation or its equivalent examination earlier shall be considered first. A final merit list would be prepared equal to the number of designated trades proposed to be filled up, duly ensuring reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Servicemen candidates, in descending order of percentage of marks obtained. Candidates finally enlisted to undergo training would be subjected to verification of original testimonials. Medical Fitness:ย Candidates must satisfy minimum standards of physical fitness as prescribed in the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 as amended from time to time. The selected candidates will have to submit a prescribed medical examination certificate in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-E) before their engagement. Physical fitness will be certified by a government authorized Doctor (Gazetted) not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of Central/State Hospital. |
| General Information |
| The Rail Wheel Factory Administration is responsible for processing applications and preparing the merit list. Before starting the apprenticeship, selected candidates must execute a Contract of Apprenticeship with the employer. If the candidate is a minor, their guardian must sign the contract. Selected candidates are required to register the apprenticeship online at the official portal: Apprenticeship India. Early registration is recommended, even before the final selection list is published. On completing the training and passing the NCVT test in vocational trades, candidates will receive a Certificate of Proficiency from the National Council for Vocational Training. Candidates must ensure that their Name, Fatherโs/Motherโs/Guardianโs Name, and Date of Birth in the application match exactly with the Matriculation certificate, other educational documents, and Aadhaar. Any discrepancy may lead to cancellation of candidature and debarment from training. Reservation and age relaxation will be as per Government of India rules and Railway Board amendments. Candidates already employed in Government / Quasi-Government / PSU organizations must apply through proper channels. Completing the apprenticeship does not guarantee employment in Indian Railways as per the Apprentices Act, 1961. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification. No hostel facility will be provided; selected candidates must make their own arrangements for accommodation during training. Candidates attending document verification will not be paid TA/DA. Caste certificates (SC/ST/OBC) must be as notified by the Government of India. Certificates not appearing in the Central Gazette will be treated as UR category. Only one application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications will be rejected. Candidates must provide a correct and complete postal address with Pin Code in their application.
