ICHR JRF Recruitment 2026 out for 80 Posts
The Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) has released the Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) Notification 2026 on 20 March 2026 on its official website, www.ichr.ac.in. A total of 80 fellowships have been announced under the ICHR JRF 2026 program.
Eligible candidates are those who are registered for a Ph.D. program in historical studies at recognized universities. Selected fellows will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹17,600 along with an annual Contingency Grant of ₹16,500 for a period of two years, which may be extended by one more year without financial liability under special circumstances.

| General Information |
The Fellowship is a full-time commitment for research and cannot be held alongside any other full-time or part-time employment. A maximum of 80 JRFs will be awarded, following the usual reservations for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. All applications must be submitted through the proper channel, recommended by the Research Supervisor and forwarded by the Head of Department/Centre/Principal. A Ph.D. Registration Certificate is mandatory at Stage-II of the selection process. Incomplete applications or those received after the deadline will be rejected. ICHR reserves the right to set screening criteria, modify the number of fellowships, or decide not to award any fellowship. |
