Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must hold a second-class Bachelorโs Degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university.
- The relevant subject should have been studied in all years/semesters of the degree, and the final marksheet must clearly mention the subject and marks obtained.
- A B.Ed (General) degree from an NCTE-recognized institute is compulsory. Only General B.Ed is accepted for teaching Classes IXโX as per Education Department guidelines.
- B.Ed (Special Education) will not be considered as a valid qualification for APPSC TGT (Secondary) posts.
- The B.Ed course should be of at least two years duration with a mandatory school internship. However, one-year B.Ed degrees obtained before 2015 are also eligible.
- Candidates who have completed a four-year integrated degree program with B.Ed (General) can apply, provided they meet the subject-specific criteria.
- Final-year or final-semester students of Bachelorโs Degree or B.Ed are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants can apply for only one TGT (Secondary) post/subject under this recruitment.

| The selection process for APPSC Trained Graduate Teacher Recruitment 2026 consists of two stages โ a Written Examination followed by Viva-Voce and Classroom Teaching. Candidates must first qualify the written exam by securing the minimum required marks to move to the next stage. Stage 1 โ APPSC TGT Written Examination 2026 The written exam is objective in nature and divided into two papers, carrying a total of 450 marks. Paper 1: General English, General Studies, Aptitude & Pedagogy โ 150 marks Paper 2: Concerned Subject โ 300 marks (based on the specific TGT subject such as English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, etc.) Negative marking is applicable, with 1/6th of the marks deducted for each incorrect answer. Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks (both overall and subject-wise) as specified in the notification to be eligible for the next stage. Stage 2 โ Viva-Voce & Classroom Teaching Candidates who clear the written exam will be shortlisted in a ratio of approximately three times the number of vacancies. This stage carries 50 marks and is conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. It assesses subject knowledge, teaching ability, communication skills, classroom management, and overall suitability for the TGT role. Final Merit List The final selection is based on the combined score out of 500 marks (450 from the written exam and 50 from Viva-Voce & Classroom Teaching). Candidates who do not meet the qualifying criteria in the written exam or fail during document verification will not be considered for final selection, even if they appeared for the exam. |
