Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates applying for the Ordnance Factory Bhandara Technician Apprentice Recruitment 2026 must ensure they meet all eligibility requirements related to age, educational qualification, and apprenticeship norms as on the crucial date 15th April 2026.
- Educational Qualification:
- Applicants must possess a full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant branch (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics) from a State Council/Board of Technical Education, a recognized University, or an institute recognized by the State/Central Government as equivalent. Only regular (full-time) diploma holders are eligible.
- Diploma Passing Date Condition:
- Candidates must have completed their Diploma on or after 15th April 2021. Those who completed their Diploma before this date are not eligible.
- Age Limit:
- The minimum age to undergo Technician Apprenticeship Training is 14 years, and there is no upper age limit under the Apprentices Act. Candidates aged 14 to 18 years are considered minors and cannot sign the apprenticeship contract themselves; their contract must be signed by a guardian.
- No Prior Training/Experience:
- Diploma holders who have undergone training or have job experience of one year or more after completing their Diploma are not eligible for Technician Apprenticeship.
- Gap Limit Between Diploma and Training:
- Candidates are ineligible if the gap between Diploma completion and the start of apprenticeship exceeds five years. Only those who completed their Diploma on or after 15th April 2021 are eligible.
- Graduates/Postgraduates Not Eligible:
- Candidates who have completed Graduate or Postgraduate qualifications after their Diploma (such as B.E./B.Tech or higher) are not eligible for Technician Apprentice Training.
- Other Apprenticeship Conditions:
- Candidates who have already undergone Graduate or Technician Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, and whose apprenticeship was terminated for any reason, cannot be re-engaged without prior approval from the Apprenticeship Adviser.
- Sandwich course students are also not eligible after passing their final examination unless specifically approved by the Regional Central Apprenticeship Adviser.
Age Limits
- The minimum age to participate in Technician Apprenticeship Training at Ordnance Factory Bhandara is 14 years, with no upper age limit as per the Apprentices Act. | The selection for Technician Apprentices at Ordnance Factory Bhandara is strictly merit-based and does not include any written test or interview. Merit List Based on Diploma Marks: Candidates will be shortlisted according to a merit list prepared from the marks obtained in the final year of their Diploma, considering the aggregate of all years/semesters. In case of CGPA/SGPA grading, candidates must submit proper conversion documents from their institute to calculate the equivalent percentage. Failure to provide these documents may lead to disqualification. No Test or Interview: There will be no written test or interview. Shortlisting is entirely based on Diploma marks and fulfillment of eligibility criteria. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification, where their certificates, mark sheets, caste category, PwBD status, and eligibility will be thoroughly checked. Upon successful verification, candidates must undergo a medical examination and provide a police verification report along with character certificates from two Gazetted Officers, as per the notification. Registration of Apprenticeship Contract: Selected candidates must sign an apprenticeship contract with Ordnance Factory Bhandara, which will be registered with the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT), Western Region, Mumbai.
