- Must hold a medical qualification listed in Schedule I & II or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Must possess a postgraduate degree (MD/MS) or an equivalent recognized qualification in the relevant discipline/subject.
- For surgical super-specialties, M.Ch., and for medical super-specialties, D.M. (2, 3, 5, or 6 years recognized course) or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Experience Requirements:
- 10 years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution after obtaining the MD/MS degree, OR
- 8 years of teaching and/or research experience after obtaining D.M./M.Ch. (2 or 5-year course) in the relevant specialty, OR
- 7 years of teaching and/or research experience for candidates with a 3- or 6-year recognized D.M./M.Ch. degree in the respective specialty
