Eligibility Criteria
- MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Completion of the compulsory internship with a valid Internship Completion Certificate.
- Registration with any State Medical Council or the NMC.
- MBBS (including internship) should not have been completed more than three years prior to the start date of Junior Residency, i.e., on or after 31 January 2023.
- Candidates who have already completed two terms of Junior Residency (Non-Academic), either at AIIMS or elsewhere, will not be eligible. Each term is considered as six months, regardless of actual duration of service.
- Experience in Army Services, Central Health Services, private nursing homes, or private practice will be counted as equivalent to a term of Junior Residency (Non-Academic) for the purpose of term calculation.
Fee Structure
- Application Fees: ₹1,000 (Rupees One Thousand only) for Unreserved, OBC, and EWS candidates.
- Payment Mode: Demand Draft drawn in favor of “AIIMS KALYANI INTERNAL RESOURCES ACCOUNT,” payable at Kalyani.
- No fee is required for SC/ST candidates.
- The application fee, once paid, is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be rejected outright.
Age Limits
- Maximum Age Limit for Junior Residents: 33 years as of the date of notification publication on the AIIMS Kalyani website.
- No age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved vacancies.
- For PwD (OPH) candidates, age relaxation of 10 years beyond the upper limit is allowed.
- Age relaxation for other categories will be as per DoPT guidelines and Government of India rules.

| Selection Process: Selection will be made solely through a walk-in interview based on candidate performance. Candidates currently employed in Government, Semi-Government, or PSU organizations must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer; in-service candidates without NOC will not be allowed to attend the interview. The interview will be conducted only after verification of the application and required documents at the time of reporting. Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria by 31 January 2026 will be considered. The number of seats/posts may be increased or decreased depending on requirements, and the decision of the authorities will be final. |
| General Information |
| The appointment is purely tenure-based for an initial period of 6 months and does not confer any right to claim regular, permanent, or continued contractual employment. The tenure engagement will automatically end upon completion of 6 months and may be terminated at any time by the Institute. Appointees may resign by giving one month’s notice or salary in lieu thereof. This is a full-time appointment. Private practice of any kind is strictly prohibited. Appointees may be required to work in shifts, including in Trauma & Emergency Medicine or any other department as assigned. Appointees must adhere to all discipline and conduct rules applicable to Institute employees, should not have been convicted by any Court of Law, and canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification. Any false declaration or willful suppression of material information will make the candidate liable for removal from service and further action as deemed fit by the appointing authority. The Executive Director, AIIMS Kalyani, reserves the right to cancel the advertisement at any time without prior notice or to fill fewer posts than advertised depending on institutional requirements. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/OPH/EWS candidates will be as per rules. Valid category certificates issued by a competent authority, recognized for Central Government jobs and issued before the date of interview, are mandatory. If suitable EWS candidates are not available, posts will not be carried forward as backlog; UR candidates may be considered provisionally for EWS posts, subject to conditions. Status of accepted/rejected applications and all updates will be posted on the Institute website. AIIMS Kalyani will not be responsible for non-receipt of email communications.
