- Experience: At least 3 years of post-qualification experience/training in fabrication work such as cutting, fit-up, and welding processes

| Mode Of Selection |
| The selection will be conducted through a Practical Test carrying 100 marks. Based on the number of applications received online, CSL may scrutinize the applications and shortlist candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria for different posts. Candidates who successfully clear certificate verification will be shortlisted to appear for the Practical Test, which will be conducted at CSL, Kochi. Minimum Qualifying Marks in Practical Test Unreserved (UR) & EWS candidates: 50% of the total marks OBC candidates: 45% of the total marks (applicable only for OBC-reserved vacancies) SC/ST candidates: 40% of the total marks (applicable only for SC/ST-reserved vacancies) PwBD candidates: 40% of the total marks CSL may relax the minimum qualifying marks if an adequate number of candidates do not qualify. Final selection will be subject to verification of eligibility conditions, including age, educational qualifications, experience, and reservation status. Candidates must produce original documents supporting age, qualification, experience, and reservation, along with self-attested copies, at the time of certificate verification. A separate rank list for each post will be prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and qualify in the Practical Test. In case of a tie in marks, merit will be determined based on seniority in age. |
| General Information |
| Contract Period: The engagement for all posts will be on a contract basis for a maximum duration of five years, subject to project requirements and satisfactory individual performance. Place of Posting: Candidates may be posted at CSL or any of its units/project sites as decided by CSL and are liable for transfer between different CSL units. The appointment involves an obligation to serve in any department of CSL, including on-board ships, or at any unit, work site, or project undertaken by CSL anywhere in India or abroad. The minimum prescribed qualification for all posts must be obtained from an institute or examination board recognized by AICTE or the appropriate statutory authority / State or Central Government. Candidates possessing qualifications claimed to be equivalent to the prescribed ones must produce an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority. Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) will be provided in accordance with Government of India guidelines. All Government of India directives on reservation will be applicable. For PwBD candidates, the minimum disability should be 40% or more. CSL reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies, not fill any vacancy, or cancel the recruitment process as per organizational requirements. No TA/DA will be paid for attending any stage of the selection process. Call letters will not be issued by post. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email and/or the CSL website and must download their call letter from www.cochinshipyard.in. Candidates shortlisted for appointment must undergo a medical examination at hospitals specified by CSL. Rank lists will be maintained for each post and will remain valid for 18 months from the date of joining of the last selected candidate. Selected candidates must submit an undertaking to comply with CSL’s policy on the use of smartphones at the workplace. Candidates who are already working as Fabrication Assistants or Outfit Assistants in CSL on the date of this notification are not eligible to apply. Any legal disputes arising from this recruitment will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts/tribunals/forums at Ernakulam. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification. Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply. |
