Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have passed Matric (10th class) from a school or institution located in Himachal Pradesh. However, this condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachali candidates.
- Applicants should have knowledge of Animal Husbandry activities and be familiar with the customs, manners, and local dialects of Himachal Pradesh.
- Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience in Animal Husbandry, which will be assessed based on a valid certificate submitted in Annexure-B.

| Candidates will be required to appear for a physical test. They must be able to carry a weight of 25 kg for a distance of 100 meters within one minute. The date, time, and venue for the physical test will be informed separately. Candidates who qualify the physical test will be called for the next stage of counselling. Preparation of Merit List: As per Para No. 8, the Pashu Mitra Engagement Committee (PMEC) will prepare a merit-based panel of five candidates for each institution. These shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification with original certificates at the time of counselling, prior to engagement. The schedule and dates for counselling and document verification will be notified separately. |
| General Information |
| Candidates must apply only in the prescribed application format (Annexure-A) attached with this advertisement. The application should be submitted on A-4 size paper. Applications received in any format other than Annexure-A will be rejected outright. The application form must be filled in the candidate’s own handwriting using a blue or black ballpoint pen. Candidates must fulfill all essential educational and other eligibility conditions on or before the last date fixed for submission/receipt of the application form. Incomplete applications—such as those without a signature on the declaration, photograph, required enclosures, or with unfilled columns—or applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected without any notice or reason. Candidates must attach self-attested photocopies of valid certificates issued by competent authorities, as specified. Original documents will be verified by the committee at the time of counselling for candidates who qualify the physical test. Applicants must apply for appointment as “Pashu Mitra” using the Annexure-A application form, along with self-attested photocopies of all required certificates. Candidates applying for Multi Task Worker / Pashu Mitra posts must compulsorily attach the detailed marksheet of the Matriculation (10th) examination. Evaluation and shortlisting (if required) will be based only on Matriculation marks, even if the candidate possesses higher qualifications. All submitted documents will be verified against the originals at the time of counselling, prior to engagement. Based on the recommendations of the designated committee, the engagement letter for appointment as Pashu Mitra will be issued by the undersigned. The selected candidate must submit a medical fitness certificate in Annexure-C. A waiting list panel will be prepared and will remain valid for one year from the date of declaration of results. If the selected candidate fails to join within 15 days, is found medically unfit, disengages within one year, or if the engagement is cancelled during this period, the next candidate in order of merit may be appointed, with due intimation to the Director (Animal Husbandry). |

- The application forms must reach the office of the Senior Veterinary Officer (SVO) of the concerned Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital, where the Pashu Mitra is proposed to be engaged, as specified in Annexure-D, on or before 31 January 2026 by 3:00 PM.
- Candidates must apply for appointment as “Pashu Mitra” using the prescribed Annexure-A application form, along with self-attested photocopies of the required documents mentioned below.
