The District Health & Family Welfare Samiti (DHFWS), Uttar Dinajpur has released the official notification for Community Health Officer (CHO) Recruitment 2026, inviting online applications for 98 contractual vacancies at Health & Wellness Centres across the district.

Eligible candidates can apply online through the State Health Department recruitment portal at www.wbhealth.gov.in within the prescribed dates.

Applications are invited as per Memo No. DHFWS/UD/ADV/CHO/0887/26 dated 16/02/2026 for the engagement of CHO (Nursing) and CHO (BAMS) purely on a contractual basis under the District Health & Family Welfare Samiti, Uttar Dinajpur. Community Health Officer (CHO – Nursing)
  • Qualification Required:
    • B.Sc Nursing with Integrated course of BPCCHN (passed in 2021 or later) from an institute recognized by WBNC, with valid registration/provisional certificate; OR
    • GNM / Post Basic B.Sc / B.Sc Nursing before 2021 for CPCH training as per notification
    • Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal
    • Proficiency in Bengali/local language & dialect

  • Qualification Required:
    • BAMS degree from a recognized Institute/University with registration/provisional certificate from Paschim Banga Ayurved Parishad (West Bengal Ayurved Council)
    • Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal
    • Proficiency in Bengali/local language & dialect
Fee Structure
  • General / UR Candidates: ₹100/- (Non-refundable)
  • SC / ST / OBC / EWS & Other Reserved Categories: ₹50/- (Non-refundable)

Mode Of Selection 
Candidates will be selected through the following stages as per the category-wise criteria mentioned in the official notification:
Written Examination
Applicable for B.Sc Nursing with Integrated BPCCHN / GNM / Post Basic B.Sc / B.Sc Nursing candidates
Merit list prepared based on written test scores (85% weightage)
Academic Merit
Applicable for BAMS candidates

Interview

Verification of age, qualification, registration, residential, caste, EWS, and other certificates as per point 16 of the official notification

Postings will be made after online counselling to SC–Suswasthya Kendras of Uttar Dinajpur

Bond & Service Conditions
Selected CHOs, after completing CPCH training, must serve at least 3 years in Suswasthya Kendras
If the service is not completed, candidates must pay ₹2,00,000/- to the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal
All posts are purely contractual and co-terminus with the scheme, extendable based on performance and approval
