Mode Of Selection

Candidates must be pursuing 7th/8th semester undergraduate engineering or 1st/2nd year postgraduate engineering/science, meeting the required academic performance criteria.
The Principal/Director of the institution must provide a recommendation letter endorsing highly deserving and meritorious students for the internship.
Only shortlisted candidates will be informed about the joining procedure, including undertaking forms and the indemnity bond, which must be completed by the candidate and the head of the institution.
Selection will be made entirely on merit, and no communication will be sent to candidates who are not selected.
Incomplete, incorrect, or late applications will be rejected without any further notice.
The management reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies or the selection criteria at any stage of the process without providing any reason.

General Information

HEMRL conducts basic and applied research in high energy materials, including the formulation, design, and development of propellants, high explosives, pyrotechnics, polymeric materials, liners, insulators, and related materials.
Research also covers physicochemical and combustion characteristics, detonation phenomena, and the development of new systems.
The internship/project duration is 6 months, and a completion certificate will be issued upon successfully finishing the full 6-month period from the date of joining.
Boarding and lodging expenses are not provided; however, interns can avail of lunch, tea, snacks, etc., at subsidized rates in the HEMRL canteen.
HEMRL/DRDO is not obliged to offer employment to interns, and completion of the internship does not confer any employment rights.
If a student leaves the internship before completing the minimum 3 months, no certificate or stipend will be provided.
