Eligibility Criteria
- MBBS degree or any recognized Graduate Medical Qualification listed in Schedule I or II, or Part II of Schedule III (excluding licentiate qualifications) under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Candidates holding qualifications listed in Part II of Schedule III must also satisfy the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

| In accordance with SRO No. 325 dated 12.07.2013, as amended by SRO No. 388 dated 10.09.2018, candidates will be selected based on a written test consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The MCQs will, as far as possible, follow the standard prescribed for the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for PG courses. The written examination will be 2 hours (120 minutes) long and will contain 100 questions. Negative Marking: Each question has four options. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks (one-fourth of the question’s marks) will be deducted. If a candidate selects more than one answer, it will be treated as incorrect, and the same penalty applies, even if one answer is correct. Unanswered questions (left blank) will not attract any penalty. |

| One-Time Registration: Applicants must update their One-Time Registration (OTR) before filling the online application form. Application Availability: The online application form along with instructions for filling it will be available on the JKPSC website from 05.01.2026. Eligibility & Instructions: Candidates are advised to carefully read all eligibility conditions and instructions before submitting the application. Last Date to Apply: The last date for submitting the online application form, including uploading all requisite documents and payment of fees (online mode only), is 04.02.2026. This date is also the cut-off for determining eligibility regarding educational/professional qualifications or category certificates, even if the submission deadline is extended. Age Limit: Minimum and maximum age will be calculated with reference to 01.01.2025. Editing Application: Some fields of the online application can be edited between 05.02.2026 and 07.02.2026. Detailed instructions will be provided on the website. Documents: All mandatory/requisite documents must be uploaded with the online application. Applicants claiming reserved category benefits must ensure that their category certificate is valid as of the cut-off date and uploaded in the prescribed format. No opportunity will be given to upload documents after the cut-off date; failing to upload may lead to rejection of application. Submission: Hard copies of the application or documents are not required at the time of online submission. However, a downloaded copy of the online application form along with original certificates must be presented during document verification. Application Advisory: Candidates are advised to apply well before the closing date to avoid issues such as website overload, payment failure, or login problems. Syllabus & Exam Date: The syllabus is available on the JKPSC website. The tentative date for the written examination is March 2026. Selected candidates will not be allowed to continue PG courses or tenure positions (Senior Residency, Registrars, Demonstrators). They will have a one-time option to either accept selection or continue with ongoing PG/tenure. Service Obligation: Selected candidates must serve in peripheral and far-flung areas of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir to ensure equitable healthcare delivery. Reserved Categories & Certificate Verification: Applicants claiming reservation must possess a valid category certificate in the prescribed J&K Reservation Rules – 2005 format. Candidature will be provisional until the genuineness of the certificate is verified by the appointing authority. Using false/fake/fraudulent certificates will result in debarment from JKPSC exams, along with other penal actions. Horizontal Reservation: 4% horizontal reservation will be provided to persons with benchmark disability, as per G.O. No. 127 of 2020 dated 20.04.2020 and G.O. No. 59-JK (SWD) of 2021 dated 15.04.2021. |

- Eligibility Check:
- After OTR submission, review the eligibility conditions mentioned in the official notification before applying for the post.
- Applying for Post:
- Click “Show Examination” and select the month of the advertisement.
- Links for eligible post(s) will appear. Click the “APPLY” button against the relevant post.
- An instruction window will appear; read carefully before clicking “APPLY” again at the bottom of the page.
- The system will display the details already filled in the OTR. Complete any remaining required fields in the application form and accept the declaration.

- Fee Payment & Document Upload:

Q1. What is the eligibility criteria?
