Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification
- Constable (UB – Unarmed Branch): Higher Secondary (HS) / Class XII pass from a Government-recognized Board or Council.
- Constable (AB – Armed Branch): HSLC / Class X pass from a Government-recognized Board or Council.
- Applicants with Higher Secondary and above can apply for both Armed and Unarmed Branch, but must clearly indicate their preference.
- Essential Requirements
- Must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of Assam.
- Must be registered with a local Employment Exchange in Assam.
- Must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.
- Selected applicants must submit Proof of Residence after the publication of the Final Select List (SC, ST, OBC/MOBC candidates are exempted).
- Experience Requirements for Reservation / Age Relaxation
- Home Guards / VDP / Civil Defence Volunteers:
- Minimum 1-year service certificate required for reservation quota benefit.

Medical Standards for Recruitment
- Candidates must be in good mental and physical health.
- Should be free from physical deformities and medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, hernia, piles, respiratory disorders, knock-knee, or flat feet.
- Must not be color blind or have squint eyes.
