Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality:ย Candidate must be a Citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with intent to permanently settle, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries. Candidates under categories (b) to (e) require an eligibility certificate from Government of India.
- Qualification:ย Candidate must have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS Examination from a recognized university.
- Provisional Admission:ย A candidate who has appeared or is yet to appear in the final MBBS Examination may also apply. Such admission will be provisional and subject to cancellation if proof of passing is not produced within the stipulated time period after result declaration of the written examination (within 15 days window provided by the Commission).
- Internship:ย A candidate who has yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship is educationally eligible to appear in the examination, but will be appointed only after completion of the compulsory rotating internship.
- Physical & Medical Standards:ย Candidates must be physically and medically fit according to the physical/medical standards for CMS Examination 2026 as per regulations contained in Appendix III to the Rules of the Examination.
- Marital Status:ย No person who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a living spouse, or having a living spouse has entered into a marriage with any other person, shall be eligible, unless exempted under personal law applicable and with Central Government approval.
Fee Structure
- General / OBC / EWS Candidates:ย Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only)
- Exempted from Fee:ย All Female candidates, SC candidates, ST candidates, and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates
- Note:ย OBC and EWS candidates are NOT exempted and must pay the full fee of Rs. 200/-.
- Mode of Payment:ย Net Banking of any Bank, or Visa/Master/RuPay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment only.
- Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination.
- Applications submitted without the prescribed fee (unless fee remission is claimed) shall be summarily rejected.
Age Limits
- Maximum Age (General):ย 32 Years (candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1994)
- For Medical Officers Grade โ General Duty (CHS):ย Maximum 35 Years as on 01.08.2026
- SC / ST candidates:ย Upper age relaxable by maximum 5 years
- OBC candidates:ย Upper age relaxable by maximum 3 years
- Defence Services personnel disabled in operations:ย Maximum 3 years relaxation
- Ex-Servicemen (with at least 5 years Military Service as on 01.08.2026):ย Maximum 5 years relaxation
- ECOs/SSCOs (with initial assignment of 5 years Military Service extended beyond 5 years):ย Maximum 5 years relaxation (with Ministry of Defence certificate)
- Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD):ย Maximum 10 years relaxation
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC who also fall under Ex-Servicemen or PwBD categories are eligible for cumulative age relaxation under both categories.
- Date of Birth accepted: as entered in the Matriculation / Secondary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent recognized certificate only. No other document for age proof will be accepted.

How to Apply
Step 1: Application Fee

- Complete the following four modules on the portal:
- Account Creation
- Universal Registration (URN Profile) โ register once in lifetime
- Common Application Form (CAF)
- Examination Specific Module (including fee payment and centre selection)
- Upload: scanned photograph (.jpg, 20 KB to 200 KB), scanned signature (.jpg, 20 KB to 100 KB), and a live photograph during CAF filling.
- Signature must be signed three times (one below the other) on plain white paper in black ink.
- Keep one Photo ID (Aadhaar Card / Voter Card / PAN Card / Passport / Driving Licence / Any other State/Central Govt. issued Photo ID) for all future references.
- Pay the prescribed fee of Rs. 200/- online through Net Banking / Visa / Master / RuPay / Credit / Debit Card / UPI (not applicable for exempted candidates).

- Candidates are strongly advised to apply well in advance to secure their preferred examination centre (first-apply-first-allot basis).
- Candidates in Government service must submit an undertaking to their Head of Office/Department and mention it in the application.
